Sara Bei Hall turns the tables

by Chris.Smith

Sara Bei Hall, one of the greatest runners ever to grace an oval track in Santa Rosa, will be in town this weekend (Nov. 7 and 8)  to switch roles with one of her greatest fans.

Sara’s mom, Karen Bei, will run her first 10K in Sunday’s Redwood Empire Food Bank “Run to Stop Hunger.” Sara, who’s training for the 2012 Olympic trials, will cheer from the sidelines with her husband, 2008 Olympic marathoner Ryan Hall.

On Saturday night, the Halls will spend at hour at Fleet Feet Sports on downtown Santa Rosa’s Third Street. They’ll talk running and collect donations of cash and groceries for the food bank.

There is a charge for the Halls’ 6 to 7 p.m. appearance, so check out the details at fleetfeetsantarosa.com. For people who are entered in Sunday’s run against hunger, the admission to the hour with the Halls is just their race bib and a couple of cans of food.

Sunday’s run sets off at 9 a.m. at Depot Park in Railroad Square.

You go, Karen Bei.
